We used the scenery I have got assembled and painted (not all built yet, but we had enough for a game set in the idyllic countryside).
We didn't play any of the scenarios as such, we had a straight battle with the allies getting bonus points at the end of the game if they can prevent the German forces breaking through their lines.
The allies deployed on the left as you look at e picture, and the germans deployed along the road by the 3 storey house to the right.
I didn't get many photos during the game (as models weren't painted, and I don't like the idea of a proper battle report with unpainted stuffs.
The Russians deployed mainly around the church, with a mortar on the hill, and the US troops around the hedges above the smaller white building (a shop).
Two Russian squads deployed right in the top of the board as they had decided to take the machine gun nest on the hill.
There was an added complication of the game that had to be dealt with. A large predatory creature had invaded the battlefield. I tried to get a decent photo to prove it, but my cat Beelzebubbles can evade most cameras. All I managed to get was this blurred photo...
Once the terrifying beast had been vanquished we could finally finish deployment and then start the game. It was great, the germans thrust up the road and with some good luck (and some reciprocated bad luck - 13 hits against a US unit and then only 1 wound caused lol, but then they complete botched their LD with a FUBAR, so I wasn't punished for the bad luck lol).
Hopefully will get the board finished soon so we can do some proper BatReps.
