Nearly there with board

I Managed to get home earlier than I expected tonight, so with spare time and a ton of various grasses I set to work on the next stage of the board.
The first step was to mix several colours and lengths of grass until I was happy with the shade.  More can be added in the second coat, to even out and add more contrast, so what is important here is getting a shade and density you are happy with for the board as a whole.

Using amid of PVA and water of about 50:50 the grass was applied over most of the flocked areas, using the applicator, which was then used to ease the grass upright.  This was time consuming and messy.  I would recommend a mask or respirator to do this, especially if using finer grasses as they get everywhere and can irritate the eyes, nose and if you breath it in you will feel dry and scratchy for hours.

We had a "helpful" assistant when doing this.  Poor thing got covered in grass as she managed to open the door and invade the room.  She has finally learned not to sniff the applicator though.

Hopefully before the weekend I will have time to add tufts of longer grass, add miss to rocks and put some contrast onto the grass.  It is gamble at this stage, but would like to seal it before playing.  More on that later.
