The Board Construction Continues

Next Update on the progress of the board.  The base coat took forever to dry, I  blame the bad weather lol.  When the brown coat was (and a second coat put down) it was time to add some highlighting.  This stage is important, as although most of the board will eventually be grass, the bare patches need to be painted, and it is much easier to paint it before putting the flock and grass on.

The board was highlighted with a lighter brown and a cream colour.  I use acrylic paints bought from a local craft/hobby store.  These are infinitely cheaper than GW paints or any other modelling paint (The Dark brown base coat was £2.50 for a litre lol).  As it is for a board this stuff is more than adequate.  Some grey was applied to the rocks, and that was highlighted by mixing white into the grey.

The next stage will be flocking.  I will use a mixture of dark green (mostly), light green and yellow green flocks.  I am waiting for the flock to arrive before finishing the next stage.  I will also use some fine gravel at the bases of the models for scree.
